Jones County Beef Ambassadors

The Jones County Beef Ambassadors are expected to participate in local events to promote beef and represent our local beef organization throughout the year. We will be appointing 1-3 youth Beef Ambassadors grades 9 th – 12 th . If you are unable to attend an event, we hope one of the Beef Ambassadors can make an appearance to serve their duties.

As a Beef Ambassador it’s your duty to keep up on any current issues associated with the cattle business and consumer issues.

Dress Code: You will represent the beef industry in the public eye, and setting an example for the youth within our community. Depending on the event, business casual is preferred. Clean jeans, no holes. During the interviews we recommend business professional for our candidates. Dress and skirts must be knee length.

Interviews with Judges will take place in June, date TBD. We will be appointing our new Beef Ambassadors Monday night July 18 th during the Cowgirl Queen Contest at the Fair. We will provide T-shirts to the candidates, and polo’s to the appointed Beef Ambassadors.

**All candidates are encouraged to participate in local 4 th of July parades. Candidates will be invited to a few activities throughout the year to help promote beef in the county. Candidates will be able to participate in a group fundraiser.

Beef Ambassadors Activities:

-Local parades, On-farm experiences, hand out beef recipes at the grocery store, school visits to elementary kids, visit clover kids, help with kiddie beef show, Holiday on 1st in Monticello, and any other places we can promote beef, youth involvement and leadership in the county.

We encourage Beef Ambassadors to attend meetings of the Jones County Beef Producers.

We encourage you to please promote beef to the best of your ability! Attend other functions when possible, for example: Beef Expo, other county fairs, cattle functions, educational conferences, etc. Possibilities are endless. Get creative with your ideas to promote beef!! Smile and have fun!
